Ralph Imondi
Scientific Co-Director of Coastal Marine Biolabs (CMB). Located in Ventura Harbor, CMB is a research-based, non-profit science education organization that is presently engaged in connecting high school students to the landmark Barcode of Life Initiative. Since August 2008, students from 14 cities and two states have created a reference DNA barcode library for roughly half of the rockfish species found in our geographic region. They are now extending these efforts to generate a more comprehensive library of reference barcodes for fish and invertebrate species that provide "vital signs'" of kelp forest health.
