On the evening of January 5th COSEE-Ocean Learning Communities and Washington Sea Grant hosted over 200 ocean and marine scientists, learning scientists, educators, graduate students, marine educators and their families for an evening focused on the topic of Addressing Broader Impact Requirements for Research Proposals. The evenings program included a small pre-event dinner for Dr. Alberts and invited graduate students with a reception for all guests followed by a presentation by Dr. Bruce Alberts titled, Redefining Science Education and the Roles That Scientists Play in Society. A separate program was given by aquarium staff for the children of the evenings guests.
